Al-Majd Association for Development previews Qurbani for Eid Al-Adha

Eid Al-Adha is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year. The purpose of Qurbani or Sacrifice in Eid al-Adha is not about shedding of blood just to satisfy Allah. It is about sacrificing something devotees love the most to show their devotion to Allah. It is also obligatory to share the meat of the sacrificed animal in three equivalent parts - for family, for relatives and friends, and for poor people. The celebration has a clear message of devotion, kindness, and equality. It is said that the meat will not reach Allah, nor will the blood, but what reaches Him is the devotion of devotees. On this occasion, Muslims sacrifice an animal such as a lamp, cow, or camel and distribute its meat to family, relatives, and the poor. Al-Majd Association for Development implements the Qurbani project this year, it has assigned a qualified veterinarian to help choose and preview the best Qurbani and has reserved some lamps and cows for the Qurbani. This offers an opportunity to support local farmers, businesses, and share food with often food insecure people. Supporting local farmers can have a hugely positive impact on the local economy and the incomes of families living in a very difficult situation.
