Job Creation Programme (JCP)
Thousands of university graduates across Gaza are unemployed and unable to gain the necessary work experience needed to develop their skills and gain economic independence.
According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the unemployment rate of Gaza Strip in the 3rd quarter of 2016 has witnessed the highest level in the world to reach 43.2%. Also, number of unemployed exceeds 218,000 people. Moreover, the World Bank recently warned that the unemployment rate is the highest in the world among youth and graduates to exceed 50%.
Gaza Strip is seriously in need for a solution to alleviate this problem. From this Al-Majd Association for Development through Job Creation Programme (JCP) was created as a mean to help the Palestinian Graduates and upgrade the performance of the Palestinian institutions working in different fields as health, education and social sector. (JCP) aims to ease the impact of widespread poverty and protracted conflict by providing short-term employment opportunities to graduates. It injects cash into the local economy and supports the private sector through additional human resources. Its innovative approach prioritises employment, the partner institutions services are varied from medical, educational, social and cultural services.
