Supporting of the Tuition Fees for the Needy Students at the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) – Year 2018 Due to the dramatic and severe financial situation of the Gaza Strip, thousands of university students are unable to registers for new study semester, as they cannot pay the owed accumulated tuitions. In addition, this huge number of needy students cannot finish their study as planned. These factors result in negative psychosocial effects on both students and their families. Al Majd Association for Development, keeping up their role in helping all strata of Palestinian society, has taken the initiative to support the IUG needy students to enable them to register for the new study semester. Over the past three years, Al Majd Association for Development has been leading the way in supporting the needy students in the Gaza Strip. Al Majd Association for Development has been providing financial aids for dozens of Palestinian students along the Strip. During the recent years, Al Majd Association for Development extended a helping hand to thousands of needy Palestinian students who had their certificates held by the universities in the Gaza Strip for not paying the owed fees, thus they were able to receive their certificates and graduate duly. In addition, the association provided financial aids for hundreds of needy students who were not able to register for new semesters due to their severe financial situations. Al Majd Association for Development, doing the best to maintain an underfunded student’s support mission, is planning to implement a project to support 300 needy students from the IUG to enable them to register for the new study semester and to accelerate their progress towards graduation and pursuing decent jobs that put them in the right place to brighten the face of Palestine. The implementation of such projects over the past years has provided the adequate experience for Al Majd Association for Development team who are now more sophisticated with implementing the activities of project more precisely and timely.
