High Positivity Rate for COVID-19 Tests in Gaza

Severe and critical cases of Covid-19 have hit record highs this week in the Gaza Strip; this is attributed to the proliferation of a new strain of the highly transmissible Coronavirus first identified in UK. The Ministry of Health recorded today, 19th of April, (998) new cases, in addition to (16) deaths during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to ( 777). Moreover, (415) cases need intensive medical care in hospitals, while the total of severe and critical cases reached 301.
